  • she did not like the weather.  the air, too warm, hinted at spring, making her blood itch, though winter had scarce arrived.  the breeze coming in her window smelled like rut... the moon rose full silver above the skyscrapers, far beyond the skeletal reach of the tallest trees. she turned towards the moon, its beams limning her face with argent pure, and she sent her longing and love winging skyward.

"surely," she thought,"he sees the same moon, if not now, then scant hours ago, and surely he feels my love for him.  he cannot have forgotten me, not after calling forth such desire deep and affection strong that my soul shatters for want of him."

she turned towards the laptop, face now tinted with green fluouresence, but there were no emails.  no IMs.  not for six weeks.  she selected the shut down program, and rose from her desk to let the computer finish the task on its own, tears streaming down her face.

she did not notice as her fingers turned her wedding ring around and around and around her finger...

  • :eprop: :eprop: Two eprops for that...

I liked this. I know, you just posted, it, but it was good. I read fast

  • Pretty... and sad. *sigh* Nicely written!

ryc: Thanks for your sweet comment on my last entry. You're right, I should just come clean with the whole thing. But it's hard. Oy.

  • another ryc: I'm glad you liked my writing!! And you will learn of Adrienne one day, because that book -- "Out on the Bluffs" -- will someday be published and will be a best-seller. I just know it.

As for the book I mentioned, it really is "Thursday Next." I even looked it up on Google to double-check.

  • RE: Jersey a country unto itself...Patti Smith, Springsteen, and the Giants...and don't forget Parcells, Les Paul and Sinatra:sunny:  Jersey definitely AIN'T like all the crap west of the Hudson:laugh:

WHY didn't she like the weather...the cherry blossoms are blooming in D.C.:lookaround:

  • i loev the first paragraph of that.

  • How sad.

You know what always cheers me up? Boobies.

  • RYC---she MUST have been smoking crack

  • RYC ~ Thanks for the prayers

  • RYC---could've quit if it wasn't for all them beers in the fridge left over from Xmas  Nah, i KNOW they put so much crap in those cigarettes that it's more addictive than heroin...and i got a shitload of Commits, the nasty taste of those alone should do the trick...and for the first time i REALLY motivated to quit.  Before i was like a Easter/Christmas 'christian" paying lip service to god in my attempts...NOW i realise there's 35 years of that crap and it's just TIME to quit.  Now if they could get rid of all those annoying anti-smoking commercials on TV---swear i'll go the whole day without thinking about smoking then WHAM...one of those

  • RE your second (actually your 1st since i'm going in reverse order) comment---i don't KNOW any keyboard shortcuts...and they taught Devo in college

  • RYC:  Why are all these people lying?

  • RYC:  Who knows?  My paranoia knows no bounds.

  • I have a feeling we have slightly different views on today's politics......Oh well.....at least we both can take political differences in stride....it's a sad day when you meet someone who takes these same differences to heart.

When you are given the chance to ask one of your favorite authors a question, it's always hard to pick the right ones.

    I asked him two questions:

1.) If he must vote Democratic, will he vote for Obama or Clinton?

2.) What an attack hamster really looks like (from his book "Holidays in Hell")

  • RYC---i know what keyboard shortcuts ARE, but like with that know i used < EM > (sans the spacing of course) and for the bold i use the < STRONG > simply because that's what i learnt when i went into the Xanga EDIT HTML:lol:  IF i knew my way around a computer, shich i basically think is a typewriter hooked up to a TV, Homeland Insecurity or the Thought Police would make sure i have a reservation at Gitmo:wha:

  • I like the ominous sentiment in this moment..

  • I'd love to see the rest of the story

  • interesting. Can we look forward to a continuation?

  • hmm.  you appear to have quite a readership.

  • Ohhh...I like this. I can sort of relate to it. Only I'm a guy, it has been more than 6 weeks, and I'm not married.

RYC: Thanks for your nice long comment. I don't really know why I don't have one of those hawt black-haired girls, though....(well, actually I do, but I don't wanna sound too self-depricating.) Let's just say that I'm very shy.
